Dear Bowler,

Welcome back to the new season.  Let's make the 2013-14 season the best ever.  We have lots of local, state and national tournaments for you to get involved in.  Each bowling center has an events poster on their wall or you can get information from  our website www.grgrusbc.org.  Please check it out and make plans to enter.  There are still a lot of league spots available, too.  Call your local center and get information about openings.  Don't be shy.  Ask a friend to join you!

Open to all Officers of all Certiified leagues in the Greater Grand Rapids USBC.  Entries limited to 4 bowlers from a league.  Alternates are permitted if no Officers can attend.

  

Entry fee - $15.00 per doubles team

Chad - Northfield - 2013-14The first tournament of the season had great  participation and some great scores!!  It took an average of 219.5 to make the cut. The winner for the first tournament of the season was Chad Reiffer ($599.00) who beat Derek Nyenhuis ($300.00) in the final match game 245-209.  Congratulations!!  Derek made a great run for his 1st Adult tournament.  Keep up the good work.  Other cashers were ...

Bowlers for Veterans  

Week of November 10 - 16, 2013

  

The Association will once again be sponsoring a  mail-o-graphic tournament to raise money for Veterans.  But this year all money raised will be donated to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.  More information will be available soon

 

Activate Your USBC Membership Card

 

Membership cards will be arriving from USBC.  USBC members are again being invited to activate their membership for the 2013-14 season when your membership card arrives.  As part of the process, you are asked to create a  BOWL.com User Name/Login and password.  This User Name/Login and password will be used to access an increasing number of BOWL./com features in the future. 

 

Michigan State Mixed Tournament - Ionia, MI 

  

The Michigan State team/doubles mixed tournament will be held at Ionia Bowl 300 in Ionia all weekends in October.  Entry fee is only $20.00 per bower per event.  Call Association office (616-530-8195) for entries.

Association Awards for

League Bowlers

 

Our Association will be creating an awards program for league bowlers. We would like your input as we design this program. We have some ideas of our own, but would like to take your ideas into consideration also. Part of your membership fees will go towards funding this program. Talk it over with your league members and give us your suggestions and ideas. Decisions will be made in the next couple of months.

 

 

USBC Rule 101 - Membership Fee Requirements

 

All bowlers in certified leagues must be paid members of USBC, Michigan and Grand Rapids.  That means ALL bowlers must pay the $18.00 certificatin fee regardless of how many games bowled---6 games or 66 games.  All bowlers in certified leagues must be certified!
