The 2018 Annual meeting of the Greater Grand Rapids USBC Association will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018, 7:00 p.m. at Westgate Lanes
The following positions are to be filled by election for the corresponding terms:
- 5 Directors
- Youth Director
- Delegates to the 2019 USBC National Meeting
- Delegates to the 2019 Michigan State USBC
Interested persons must submit the enclosed candidate application postmarked by April 20th, 2018 and be in attendance at the Annual Meeting (or have a note on file requesting to be excused).
To be eligible for nomination as an officer or director, a candidate must be:
- A USBC member in good standing of the association at the time of election and throughout their term.
- Must not be bowling in any un-certified (sanctioned) leagues of American Ten Pin.
- Must have a working knowledge of USBC rules and regulations.
- Must have a working knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Parliamentary Procedures.
- Time to serve on committees and attend 6-7 board meetings each year.
- Candidates to be eligible for nomination as an officer shall have served at least three years as a member of GGRUSBC Board of Directors.
Additional eligibility requirements, if any, will be developed by the Nominating Committee.
Anyone wishing to be considered as a director or delegate must submit their qualifications to the Nominating Committee on the approved (enclosed) application. This form must be postmarked by April 20nd, 2018.

Nominations from the floor may be made, providing the candidate’s qualifications have been submitted to the Nominating Committee at least one week prior to the opening of the Annual Meeting. These qualifications must be submitted on the approved candidate nomination form (application enclosed).

Due to the strong demand for April squads, we’ve worked with Lincoln Lanes to make more lanes available to you for the City Tournament. As such, some squads which were previously full now have availability. Here’s the latest availability.

April 7 – 10AM & 2PM – lanes available
April 8 – 11AM – 4 additional lanes available
April 14 – 10AM & 2PM – lanes available
April 15 – 11AM – 2 additional lanes available
April 16 – 6:30PM – 6 additional lanes available
April 17 – 6:30PM – FULL
April 18 – 6:30PM – 6 additional lanes available
April 19 – 6:30PM – 5 additional lanes available
April 21 – 10AM & 2PM – lanes available
Sparta Lanes will host the 2018 City Youth Championship Tournament. Divisions have been revised. Get your entry form here: 2018 Youth Championships.

Sundays, April 8, 15, 22 at 9:00am and 1:00pm
Class A has effectively been split into 2 divisions, resulting in 4 total divisions. Class A is now 180 and over for boys, and 160 and over for girls. Class B will now be boys 140-179, and girls 121-159. Class C (formerly Class B) is boys 106-139 and girls 85-120. Class D (formerly Class C) is boys 105 and under, girls 84 and under.
The 2018 Open & Women’s City Tournaments will be held and Lincoln Lanes. Here are the dates and squads available.

Reservations must be paid by Friday, March 16, or the reservation will be canceled. Entries close March 24. Entry form will be available online soon.

The 2018 Mixed Doubles Tournament will be hosted at Sparta, and we start this Sunday! The following weekends will have squads on both Saturday and Sunday, 13/14 and 20/21. Squads at 9am and 1pm each day.
