All league secretaries will be mailed the following correspondence concerning COVID-19 and GRGRUSBC events. Please review the document and be on the lookout for any new updates as things continue to develop.
Grand Rapids City Tournament/Covid Update
Grand Rapids Bowlers,
Due to the Governor’s “stay at home” order for the next 3 weeks, during that time we will no longer be coming into the Association Office to check mail and phone messages. However, you can still reach us through our email (grgrandrapids81946@sbcglobal.net) and/or our facebook page which can be reached through our website: http://www.grgrusbc.org.
With information changing daily on both the state and federal level, all City Tournaments are still postponed. We will continue to monitor legislation to make a decision on whether to cancel or further postpone this year’s tournaments, but we are not there yet..
We are also extending the deadline for our eligible youth bowlers to get their scholarship applications turned in. The new deadline will be June 1.
Thanks to all of you for your patience during these unprecedented times. We will do our best to keep you up to date with any new developments in our Grand Rapids bowling community.

All City Tournaments Postponed
GrGrUSBC Bowlers:
Complying with the newest regulations our Adult and Youth City Tournaments are postponed until further notice. With regulations and information changing hour by hour, there is a chance that the tournaments will be cancelled completely. We will update everyone as soon as we have enough information to make further decisions.

FAQ’s for COVID-19
Earlier today the national USBC created a document answering some of the common questions that are occurring around COVID-19 and USBC events. Please review the document and stay informed with the options surrounding leagues and tournaments.
Mixed Doubles Results and City Tournament Schedule

Welcome Back Bowlers!
As this new 2019 – 2020 season gets started The Greater Grand Rapids USBC would like to welcome back all of our members across our organization. We would also like to especially welcome the bowlers of Hastings Bowl to the GRGRUSBC! We already have tournament entry forms out for the Officer’s Jamboree, and the 700/800 tournament which moved from December to October. Please refer to their tournament pages to download an entry.
Also, this year the new “Dry Towel” rule goes into effect. This rule states that at no point once competition begins can a bowler use any substance on a bowling ball without league or tournament official’s approval. This is not just for cleaners, but also means that if you powder or rosin bags you cannot apply the substance to your the gripping holes on the bowling ball. In order to continue using these substances it must be applied to your fingers/thumb.
